About Isle of Wight Pride
Isle of Wight Pride is a volunteer-led charity established to celebrate, support, and advocate for LGBTQ+ people. Since it’s inception in 2017, Isle of Wight Pride has:
Delivered an annual Isle of Wight Pride event on Ryde seafront for thousands of attendees to celebrate and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community
Created visible, welcoming spaces where LGBTQ+ individuals can feel supported and represented
Worked year-round to promote equality, inclusion, and acceptance across the Island
Challenged discrimination and stigma through education, visibility, and community engagement
Supported wellbeing and connection, particularly for those who may feel isolated within an island community
Partnered with local organisations, charities, and businesses to strengthen community impact
Isle of Wight Pride (IW Pride) is a registered charity in England - Charity Number: 1175094
Our Aims
The charity was formed on the principles of promoting equality and diversity for the public benefit, the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity, raising awareness to the public about the issues and difficulties affecting the lives of LGBTQIA+ people, cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality and diversity and staging an annual LGBTQIA+ festival.
